Re: Update for the 2008 season
Hello all,
And welcome to
another track season. Mike Fitz, Eileen Pyrak, Robin Bartnik, Fred
Coveli, Mary Lou & John McEvoy and myself met in early March to
discuss the 2008 season. As you know we will have the schedule
completed for the MANDATORY APRIL 3RD
MEETING AT HOAKS AT 6:00 PM. I hope everyone got
there blackout dates into Fitz as requested. Again, this year the
majority of our meets will be at St. Francis High School with a few
at East Aurora High and Orchard Park High. The following items were
discussed:
- The
coaches/schools mandatory meeting will be at Hoaks on
April 3rd @ 6:00PM, please mark your calendars.
- FEES are
due at the meeting on April 3rd, the amount this year
will be $100.00.
- The season
will begin the on April 22nd and end May 20th. The
schedule is posted on the web site @
www.sitasite.org , along with lane assignments.
- The 2008 rules
are on our web site at
www.sitasite.org . Please review them.
- It was agreed
by the SITA board of directors that no one shall be on the
infield at any meet unless participating or volunteers in and
event (This includes parents).
- We will
seriously be looking for coaches & parents to set up and to be
trained for the official/starter roles. Jim and Fred cannot be
expected to make it to 21 meets and 3 championships all the time
and on time. We will probably have schools that run first at
events be required to set up the tracks.
- We are pleased
to announce that we have 3 new schools this year; they are
Fourteen Holy Helpers, St. Josephs (Gowanda), and Mary Queen of
Angels. Please extend your congratulations, welcome, and
patience on their new endeavor.
Thank you and we
look forward to another successful season and hope you all have lots
of fun.
God bless you all,
